Termites in Indiana

The Subterranean Termite is the only species of termites common to Indiana. Subterranean Termites live in underground colonies of 60,000 to 2 million plus. When foraging for food they create distinctive mud tubes for protection and to keep themselves damp. Subterranean Termites do require moisture, and for this reason, are attracted to damp soil like near homes with improper guttering or drainage and moist crawl spaces. Subterranean Termites can cause significant damage to structures over time if left untreated.
